Qumulo Unlocks More Platform Choices, New Workloads and Massive Scale with Their Latest Release

Qumulo, the radically simple way to manage exabyte-scale data anywhere, today announced its Scale Anywhere initiative with several new product updates.

  • Certifications for three new Hybrid NVMe platforms offering 35-110% greater performance vs. existing hybrids. More performance means getting more work done at a faster rate. Qumulo customers can choose where their data lives and runs.
  • Support for up to 265 nodes in a single cluster - a 165% increase in capacity headroom. Greater capacity means customers can further consolidate workloads on a single cluster without fear of running out of space.
  • Five new workloads on Qumulo will soon be enabled by SMB protocol enhancements and S3 support. More workload consolidation in a single environment enables customers to further reduce cost and simplify their storage vendor strategy.

"Customers often feel stuck using a vendor's exclusive hardware and are subject to price hikes, technological limitations, and even supply chain risk", said Kiran Bhagheshur, Chief Technology Officer at Qumulo. "We enable our customers to use their platform(s) of choice while making data management simple. They can choose to start small and only scale to what they need as business demands evolve. Now, with the increased capacity and performance of our latest platforms, more workloads can be combined onto a single cluster for greater simplicity and cost-effectiveness."

Qumulo's unique architecture allows customers to maximize the economics of their storage investment by consolidating more workflows onto one system. It also enables simpler management at massive scale, with an identical user experience and consistent performance across any environment - in their data centers on-premises, in the cloud of their choice, and even for workloads at the edge.

Being completely software-defined, Qumulo can run on an increasing numer of hardware platforms, while giving customers an identical management experience. Customers use Qumulo as their single file data solution to simplify hybrid cloud deployments and manage the increasingly complex data life cycle of today's modern enterprise. Deploying Qumulo on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform looks and feels the same as managing clusters on-premises, giving customers a single management experience for all environments.

Bill Richter, CEO at Qumulo, said, "Our fundamental vision is to enable massive scale, simple operation, deployable anywhere a customer chooses. Qumulo ensures customers have the freedom to pick where their data resides, in addition to making the process of storing, managing, and moving unstructured data simple and elegant. Customers can run in the cloud, on-premises in their data center, or at the edge so they can have full control of their data throughout the entire life cycle. As their business demands change, our customers have the agility to scale on-demand - anywhere they want and move data between environments quickly without having to rewrite applications."
