Jinny Software has unveiled an advanced version of its mobile messaging solution, called IP SM Gateway (News
- Alert), saying that it is a new technology that enables both GSM and CDMA operators to offer SMS service on next-generation networks.
This cost-effective solution, according to the vendor, helps mobile operators have control over messaging traffic, and drive revenue growth with additional differentiating services.
At a time operators are evolving toward full IP networks to support increasingly heavy loads of mobile data, the solution offers to support enhanced IP messaging communication services.
The solution enables operators to introduce SMS in their new generation of networks, providing smooth integration and transition with legacy messaging services.
Messages are major revenue source for operators and the SMS market is worth more than $105 billion, according to analysts at Informa Telecoms & Media.
So Jinny says its solution acts as a bridge between IMS-designed LTE (News - Alert) networks and legacy SS7 circuit switched networks. And its Gateway ensures that the customer experience is kept optimal while operating LTE networks in parallel with legacy 2G or 3G networks.
The product, according to the company, provides advanced and flexible routing capability in order to maximize the usage of legacy messaging centers in both CDMA and GSM environments, reducing both capital and operational costs. The product also brings a differentiating messaging feature set that can be applied on the new network domain, including advanced message filtering, personalized messaging services and advertising insertion in the message traffic.
An arm of Italy's Acotel Group, Dublin, Ireland-based Jinny Software (News - Alert) recently reported 62 percent sales growth to EUR $16.4 million.
