INOVA Geophysical, a provider of land geophysical technology, recently announced that TGC Industries, Inc., a provider of seismic data acquisition services, has purchased 10,500 channels of Hawk autonomous nodal system, along with all peripheral equipment. The solutions will complement TGC Industries’ existing fleet of wireless channels and will help the company meet increasing demand for wireless recording channels.
Hawk is an integral part of INOVA’s Clarity (News - Alert) Broadband Solution which leads the seismic industry in providing cutting-edge recording equipment, performance-enhanced vibrators, High Productivity Vibroseis (HPVS) support for large scale, high-density projects and proprietary digital sensing technology. The company claims that its proven source generation products, digital sensors and recording systems have successfully helped operators worldwide get the best results possible from their acquisition programs.
"In response to the increasing demand by our North American customers for wireless recording channels, particularly on large high-density seismic surveys, we are purchasing this additional wireless equipment to complement our existing fleet of wireless channels. We expect to take delivery of this equipment and have it deployed in the field by the middle of September,” said Wayne Whitener, TGC Industries' president and chief executive officer. "We are pleased to be able to respond to the needs of our customer base and believe this additional equipment will further strengthen our position within the industry in fielding the latest state-of-the art equipment. Taking into account the delivery of these additional channels, our total channel count will be approximately 145,000, of which about 80,000 are wireless."
In related news, INOVA Geophysical recently launched new AccuSeis SL11 single-component broadband digital sensor to address the needs of oil and gas companies for higher resolution and more detailed images of the earth's subsurface. AccuSeis is the newest sensor addition to the INOVA Clarity Broadband Solution, a complete portfolio of wide bandwidth technologies for the seismic industry.
