Convio has announced the availability of Common Ground, a new, Web-based constituent relationship management (CRM) system for tracking all interactions with donors and other supporters.

Convio is a provider of on-demand CRM software and services that give nonprofit organizations a way to mobilize people to support their organization. The company's latest offering leverages cloud computing to deliver software as a service (SaaS (News - Alert)) solution that integrates with other open systems such as online fundraising and marketing applications.

Leveraging the power of cloud computing, Common Ground is delivered as a service through the Internet to build and manage constituent relationships. It features “clicks, not code” that enables people across the organization to scrutinize performance metrics, view information and measure results using an intuitive tool.

Common Ground is built and delivered natively on salesforce.com’s Force.com Platform. According to officials, this complete on-demand solution offers flexible tools to help nonprofits focus on their mission, fundraising, advocacy and communications results instead of managing and maintaining software and technology infrastructure.

Moreover, the technology behind Common Ground removes the limitations of legacy donor database systems. Officials said that nonprofits use the technology to build relationships, manage resources, eliminating the need to store and maintain information by paying.

“By listening to the needs of nonprofits, then bringing innovation, technology and our vast experience in serving the needs of the market together, Common Ground delivers on their need for a simpler, more affordable, and better way to manage relationships,” said Gene Austin, CEO at Convio, in a statement.

Common Ground takes the data from all of an organization’s departments and makes it work together so that nonprofit professionals can utilize people, time and funds to grow the community impact of their mission.

With customizable dashboards for executive directors, development and event professionals, volunteer managers, and finance professionals to name a few, the CRM solution provides constant updates on performance metrics and more.

Some of the features offered by Common Ground are donor management that tracks gifts from any source and build revenue forecasts based on pledge and planned giving commitments; it groups individuals by households and organizations and track relationships to create a complete profile of constituents.

Additional feature include Convio online marketing integration. The “hands free” automated data synchronization with Company’s online marketing products to exchange all profile record changes and summary values and download online interactions to the solution.

“Common Ground provides the functionality that most nonprofits need and actually use and delivers it through an easy to use, flexible tool,” said Austin.

He also said that because it’s built on open technology, nonprofits have the ability to integrate with mobile technology, social networks and other applications that today’s nonprofits and the modern constituent demand.
