Ecommerce solution provider Optaros has announced that its OCentric SaaS (News - Alert) solution will be powered by the Magento Enterprise Platform. OCentric is unique in bundling together the simplicity of SaaS and the flexibility of open source. The benefits of OCentric come at the same cost as standard storefronts from existing ecommerce SaaS vendors.
"Optaros is one of our top partners, and we are excited for the Magento Enterprise Platform to be part of OCentric," said Roy Rubin, chief executive officer and founder of Magento. "OCentric is a smart option for companies that want SaaS, but are frustrated by a lack of flexibility from existing SaaS providers."
OCentric has been deployed by organizations to support numerous ecommerce features across multiple geographies. One of the clients Naspers (News - Alert) has used the solution to enable new retail concepts, such as the private-sales site 36Boutiques. Its scalability and modular, customizable design makes OCentric future proof. It can be updated with the latest online retail functionalities as they are developed.
"We chose Magento Enterprise to power OCentric based on our success using it for numerous, large-scale enterprise deployments," said Marc Osofsky, vice president of marketing at Optaros. "At Optaros, we have scaled Magento Enterprise for client sites with more than $200 million in revenue, 2,000 page views per second and three orders per second. Because of this, as well as its best-in-class features and community support, Magento is the clear choice for OCentric."
More than 180 solution providers and 60,000 merchants and brands worldwide use the Magento eCommerce platform to enable over $25B in transactions each year. In recent news, Magento announced Magento Mobile a product equipped with the Magento eCommerce platform and addressing the growing need for merchants to reach consumers through mobile devices.
