Avaya recently announced that it has been positioned in the Leaders Quadrant in the Gartner (News
- Alert) Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications for 2014. With a strong market presence and a complete UC offering, Avaya has demonstrated tremendous success in the field. Avaya has been positioned in the Leaders Quadrant for sixth year in a row.
Avaya is pushing cloud-based Unified Communications (News - Alert) due to strong demand from large and midsize companies for its communications and collaboration applications. The company is working hard to fast-track customers to the cloud, and just kicked off the first of several major moves it plans to optimize solutions and processes for delivering Collaboration-as-a-Service (CaaS) via its Avaya (News
- Alert) Collaborative Cloud. With its CaaS initiative, the company is promising expanded reach and scale and focusing on driving easier, faster provisioning that demands fewer resources.
“Today’s complex, fast-paced business world needs communications and collaboration tools that can keep its workforce ahead of the game and multi-task with elegant simplicity. This is the 21st century communications experience that Avaya is dedicated to delivering in any deployment model our customers choose,” said Gary E. Barnett, senior vice president and general manager of Collaboration Platforms, in a statement.
In related news, BT (News - Alert) and Avaya recently announced a five-year agreement which will see BT Wholesale deliver Avaya's Unified Communications and Contact Centre applications as a cloud service to midmarket and enterprise customers via the indirect channel.
The move brings together one of the world's largest providers of contact centre and unified communications services with the UK's leading wholesale communications business. The service will give businesses and public sector organisations with 250+ employees access to the full suite of Avaya Aura contact centre and UC products delivered over BT Wholesale's high speed, high quality, managed Ethernet network. The service will be available only from Avaya accredited channel partners through BT Wholesale. It will provide customers with the kind of bespoke and adaptable communications applications, security and service level guarantees which have previously only been available at an enterprise level.
