SmartFocus Acquires TagPoints and Content Savvy

SmartFocus, a company that provides contextualized and personalized messaging solutions, recently announced that it has acquired Beacon technology specialist TagPoints and social media analytics provider Content Savvy. With the two acquisitions, the company now claims to offer a truly omni-channel marketing solution with advanced messaging and communication tools added to their repertoire.


TagPoints is the proximity marketing and loyalty platform that Beacons (iBeacons) in retail settings to communicate directly with shoppers in a U.K. shopping center. With a TagPoints-enabled app, the Android (News - Alert) and iOS users enabled shoppers to receive real-time discount offers from retailers, direct to their phone via BLE beacon technology.

On the other hand, Content Savvy, through its solutions, helps organizations leverage their own data along with thousands of external sources such as social media, news and government publications through context-sensitive language understanding.  This combined view provides rich insight that is not available through solutions designed for social media alone and enhances mission critical enterprise solutions involving analytics, search, discovery and reporting.

In related news, Infor, a provider of enterprise business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, and SmartFocus recently announced the availability of Infor Epiphany with email marketing services from SmartFocus' cloud marketing platform. This new partnership further empowers Infor's customers to deliver targeted email marketing that drives revenue, loyalty, and satisfaction.

The combination of Infor Epiphany's proven enterprise campaign management capabilities with cloud email marketing services from SmartFocus enables marketing professionals to automate and manage the daily execution of their online email campaigns. Technologies such as Infor Epiphany Email Advisor allow marketers to dramatically increase success rates and deliver more dynamic and relevant offers to customers in real-time.
