Nortel has announced it will help Bohai Property Insurance to improve its customer service and telemarketing capabilities.

Bohai Insurance claims that the recent growth in its business prompted the company to look for an advanced call center and telephony infrastructure. When the company was ready to offer its services nationwide, it wanted to implement a world-class communications solution that would be reliable.

Apart from securing new business, an insurance company relies heavily on providing high quality customer services. With a state of the art call center facility and a robust technology from Nortel (News - Alert) to back it up, Bohai Property Insurance will be able to improve its customer care quality and secure new customers.

Nortel has deployed its Communication Server 1000; IP Telephony and CTI (News - Alert) link middle-ware products at Bohai Insurance. Offering the benefits of a converged network plus advanced applications and more than 750 world-class telephony features, the CS 1000 is a server-based, full-featured IP PBX (News - Alert).

“Offering high scalability, reliability and redundancy, the new call center for Bohai Insurance will soon be expanded from its present 100 seats to 210 seats, and is helping the company realize rapid growth in a highly competitive market,” said Jerry Huang, general manager, Enterprise Networks, Nortel Greater China.

“The technology is helping to drive the business forward in this increasingly Hyperconnected world, enabling customer service excellence across multiple media.”

Recently, the company also announced that it plans to sell parts of its application delivery portfolio to an integrated application solutions provider. As per the announcement, Radware Ltd. will acquire their layer 4-7 application delivery business. The products were originally acquired by Nortel in 2000 when it purchased Alteon.
