Stratos's New StratosTrax Tracking Portal for Multiple Mobile Devices Now Commercially Available

Stratos (News - Alert) Global, provider of remote communications solutions including mobile and fixed satellite and microwave services, has announced that its new StratosTrax tracking portal designed with fully integrated GPS and geofencing capabilities supporting web-based location, identification, and for tracking users, has been made commercial available.


Customers leveraging the StratosTrax tracking portal will now be able to easily manage mobile resources from any location across the globe. The StratosTrax tracking portal has been developed as a reliable and robust offering capable of supporting management of vehicle and fleets, and for managing personnel security. The solution also offering situational awareness and enhances management of assets.

The StratosTrax solution which has been designed to be device and medium agnostic delivers satellite, GSM, 3G and radio devices support in addition to delivering support for a wide range of mobile devices which include devices such as Inmarsat Global Satellite Phone (News - Alert) Services (GSPS), Blackberry as well as Iridium Extreme and Iridium Short Burst Data units.

The company is expecting to extend support of its StratosTrax solution for other mobile devices such as iPhone, IsatData Pro, Inmarsat BGAN and Inmarsat FleetBroadband DTS (News - Alert) in addition to Inmarsat C services within the coming months. The StratosTrax portal offers users with an intuitive and user-friendly interface which combines Google (News - Alert) mapping views in Map, Satellite, Hybrid, as well as Terrain alternatives. Users will be able to view all their devices over a single map.

The portal which retails at $20 per month comes with a breadcrumb functionality which allows users to retrace their steps through tracking-update intervals. Additionally, the StratosTrax portal has been designed for quick and easy integration with mobile devices.

In a release, Ian Canning, Stratos vice president of Marketing and Product Management, said that, “Our new StratosTrax portal adds value and security for those using popular mobile devices while working around the globe in demanding markets such as military, media, maritime, energy and mining. Because it was originally designed for military use, our customers are assured of its reliability and durability.”

In other news, Stratos Global recently announced it has extended its contract to provide Suncor Energy with a high-speed satellite link connecting Suncor’s Newfoundland operated offshore and shore-based facilities.
