SeeUnity, an international provider of Enterprise Content Integration and Migration solutions, has announced that its Business Connectivity Services Connector for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 is now available.
Brant Henne, marketing director at SeeUnity, said that the company has been conducting extensive development around SharePoint 2010, which has a number of improvements and enhancements that debuted with its 2010 release, including BCS. He added that SeeUnity has been using BCS to enhance searching external repositories. The company, said Henne, is very excited to be able to offer BCS support immediately, and he expressed his confidence that SharePoint 2010 customers will find that it is a key addition to content-integration strategies.
SeeUnity's BCS connector is one of the company's out-of-the-box modules that can help integrate SharePoint 2010 with Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platforms. Users will be able to more effectively search external ECM repositories from SharePoint, as well as the equally new FAST (News - Alert) for SharePoint, using the BCS.
The BCS connector serves as an out-of-the-box extension to SeeUnity's Enterprise Integration for SharePoint solution. This connector enables SharePoint to index and query from one to many external ECM platforms and other external repositories. BCS support can help customers see improved search performance and flexibility in many key areas. Some of these areas are granular filtering controls; incremental smart crawling detecting modifications to metadata, security and content; more efficient indexing of content and metadata; and improved security options that include both query time security trimming and crawl time security descriptors.
SeeUnity's BCS connector offers the ability to enhance SharePoint 2010 integration to ECM platforms. To this end, the connector is compatible with a wide range of Microsoft (News - Alert) products, including Microsoft Search Server 2010 and Search Server 2010 Express; Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, SharePoint Server 2010 for Internet Sites Standard, and SharePoint Server 2010 for Internet Sites Enterprise; and Microsoft FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint and FAST Search Server 2010 for SharePoint Internet Sites.
SeeUnity was in news earlier this month for announcing Web Part Express for IBM (News - Alert) FileNet.
