Vocalocity and Aptela Create-Growing Hosted Communications Provider

To enable users an effective way to support mobile consumers of RESTful web services, Vocalocity, the cloud-based phone service for small business has merged with hosted communications provider Aptela (News - Alert).

According to a press release, with this agreement,  Vocalocity's (News - Alert) customer base has grown more than 30 percent, With the addition of Aptela customers. Now the company has been considered as the fastest-growing hosted communications service today devoted solely to small business needs.

"Aptela is recognized as an innovative leader in cloud communications and we are excited to be part of Vocalocity," said Mahesh Paolini-Subramanya, co-founder and CTO of Aptela.  "Once we realized that Aptela and Vocalocity had similar strategies, it was clear that the combination would allow us to accelerate our pace of innovation and simultaneously improve our ability to grow – two key factors in our progression to clear market leadership.  I am very pleased to be part of the team."

This joint company now has nearly 100,000 network endpoints and is approaching 15,000 accounts. Vocalocity averages eight phones or terminal devices per account. Financial terms of the deal between the two private companies were not disclosed.
