NTELOS Integrated Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert), or “SIP” Trunking solution has been certified interoperable with Toshiba’s family of Strata CIX IP business communication systems.

 

The certification means Integrated Trunking is now available to NTELOS customers from authorized Toshiba (News - Alert) dealers in the areas of Virginia and West Virginia.

 

Shahin Hatamian, vice president of Product Management for Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division said NTELOS Integrated Trunking gives enterprise users of Toshiba Strata CIX VoIP business communication systems an affordable alternative to traditional land lines as users now have the best of Toshiba’s enterprise telephony capabilities and reliable SIP Trunking.

 

John Spilman, director of Product Management & Sales Engineering, NTELOS also said Toshiba Strata CIX customers now have a cost-effective, easy-to-deploy and easy-to-manage SIP solution as part of their overall enterprise telephony system.

 

Integrated Trunking is suitable for businesses that have acquired IP-equipped PBX (News - Alert) and key systems. Integrated Trunking allows for dynamic bandwidth allocation between Internet access, Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity and voice with a reduced number of trunks required.

 

The various features of the solution include a Primary Rate Interface (PRI) type of service that will allow multiple voice sessions on a broadband pipe; expanded local calling; and Integrated Trunking scalability, which combines voice and data on one pipe with room for growth.

 

Toshiba Strata CIX IP communication systems consists of six models offering flexibility, scalability and reliability and were recently certified interoperable with XO Communications' (News - Alert) SIP trunking solution, XO SIP.
