AT&T Inc. reportedly has bolstered its Managed Security suite with two new services called “Security Event and Threat Analysis” and “Security Device Management,” which not only facilitate AT&T (News - Alert) customers to appoint security professionals selectively, but also provide customized security support.
According to a recent study conducted by AT&T, nearly 53 percent of U.S. IT executives indicated that investing in “business continuity and security solutions” could have the a very positive impact on growth of their business growth during economic downturn.
AT&T said that its latest managed security services complement company’s already existing Security Consulting services, which include independent assessments of vulnerabilities inherent in customers' networks, log management, security policy management, vulnerability analysis, application security, trusted advisor services and payment card industry solutions. The targeted security device management service includes firewalls, intrusion detection sensors and VPN servers.
In a press release, Edward G. Amoroso, senior vice president and chief security officer for AT&T, said: “With Security Event and Threat Analysis and Security Device Management, customers maintain responsibility for the policy and ownership of security hardware, while tapping into our experience, resources and ‘in the cloud’ approach to cyber security.”
AT&T’s Security Event and Threat Analysis service prioritizes security events based on threat and risk management methodologies using AT&T and customer-defined standards. It also provides rapid notification when security events are detected and identified as critical by the AT&T security network operations center.
The Security Event and Threat Analysis service also provides round-the-clock T1-T4 analysis coverage with portal access via company’s BusinessDirect portal.
During critical security incidents, the Security Event and Threat Analysis service also provides event mitigation as well as security analyst counseling.
AT&T’s other new service, Security Device Management, offers customizable comprehensive monitoring and management of a business’s security hardware and software, with a range of services such as managing current security capabilities up to assessing, designing as well as installation of custom security infrastructure.
According to AT&T officials, the company delivers a suite of security and business continuity services to facilitate assess vulnerabilities, protect infrastructure, detect attacks and respond to suspicious activities and events.
