As the number of remote workers and branch offices increases in an organization, the risk of exposing confidential data to outsiders grows exponentially. To tackle this, companies often opt for network security solutions. DeepNines Technologies, a provider of such network security services reportedly introduced its endpoint security offering, iTrust Agent.
Often, end users such as remote workers or employees in branch offices disable or modify the security appliances installed by the company. But the DeepNines solution does not allow any of these and allows any size organization to enforce Acceptable Use Policies, security policies and content filtering to laptop users and branch offices.
DeepNines’ iTrust Agent can be installed in a laptop and it requires no end-user interaction, administration or updating. Being the industry’s-first completely transparent, non-VPN secure tunnel, the iTrust Agent ensures all traffic, including the Web, is subject to the same policies and security as those on the physical network.
“Remote security is a major issue for most organizations today, and so far, there hasn’t been a solution that provides a comprehensive yet cost-effective approach,” said Shawn Eldridge (News - Alert), vice president of marketing and products, DeepNines. “We wanted to provide a solution that takes advantage of the investment made in security at the network level, while removing the typical costs and burdens of endpoint security.”
The features provided include deep packet inspection on the entire traffic stream, elimination of unauthorized applications, enforcement of acceptable use and filtering policies for remote users, complete reporting capabilities, no sharing of confidential company information, complete visibility and control of user activity regardless of location and uses minimal laptop resources.
Recently, the company released version 6.0 of its iTrust solution. The upgrade includes a web-based reporting module, identity-based application and content control and a variety of features based on customer feedback and market research. New features in iTrust version 6.0 include redesigned Web-based reporting: reporting is offered via a Web interface with customizable reports, dashboards and logs.
