Toshiba (News - Alert) America Information Systems’ VIPedge cloud-based business telephone solution has provided a reliable, feature-rich communication solution for BookPal, an enterprise book seller helping it save over $3,000 annually. The VIPedge solution enables BookPal to communicate easily with customers and partners.


BookPal has a catalog of over three million titles and it specializes in selling bulk books and eBooks to schools, businesses and government enterprises in the United States. Also provides book donations and special discounts to nonprofit organizations.

The benefits offered by VIPedge telephone solution to BookPal include a significant reduction in maintenance costs, the processing of more than 2,000 calls per month and the capability to remotely self-administer the systems.

Communication has been greatly enhanced owing to the Call Manager unified communications and unified messaging applications. The Call Manager allows users to access and review customer call history while Unified Messaging provides a single inbox for E-mail and voice messages. Now users will get all their messages in one inbox which helps reduce the time to view, save and share messages.

Toshiba’s IP desk telephones offer a remote access solution which allows employees to work from home. In addition Toshiba’s IPMobility application allows users to make and receive office calls on their mobile phones. The “Find-Me Follow-Me” mobility feature forwards office calls to any telephone number.

Using Toshiba’s browser-based Enterprise Manager, the BookPal operations team can remotely add, change and update content from anywhere thereby eliminating wait times for on-site maintenance. All these features make VIPedge a highly reliable feature-rich cloud telephony solution, said officials.

Recently Toshiba introduced the new enterprise manager personal administration (EMPA) super user enhancement which enables EMPA super users to administer other EMPA users’ accounts. This helps the Super User to remotely manage and program telephony and unified messaging features for Toshiba’s VIPedge cloud-based business telephone solution and IPedge IP business telephone system.
