While in Dallas, TX, TMC CEO Rich Tehrani had the opportunity to sit down with Bryan Davis (News - Alert), vice president of sales and marketing for Source, Inc. Davis works on go-to-market strategies for products and customer segments, offer management and pricing, market research and sales engineering.

Source (News - Alert), Inc. is a provider of voice, video, data, cloud and contact center services and solutions. Source has been in business since 1971, however over the past few years SOURCE has expanded its customers’ experience by offering a larger variety of options in the unified communications (UC) ecosystem to include cloud services and contact center solutions.

The company has been in business for about 44 years, and it has gone through some major changes in that time. According to Davis, “We started off in the parts and refurbish business, as well as selling phone systems. We developed an inventory logistics system and asset management practice which is ISO 9000 certified, 15 years ago. So that’s where we built our business practice on.”

Since Source first began, the telecommunications market has drastically changed. Unified communications describes the integration of real-time, enterprise, communication services such as instant messaging, voice including IP telephony, mobility features, audio, web and video, just to name a few.

This is the direction Source has moved in for the past 44 years. A large number of companies have moved to cloud services, but recent reports show that about 46 percent of all handsets on the desktop are still legacy TDM-based. Source’s goal is to help this percent move forward and find the right solution to migrate and adopt the new systems available today.

As communications technology continues to mature and evolve, it is important that a company has a system that not only works, but also performs all of the necessary functions while able to access environments like Microsoft Lync and Oracle (News - Alert) SBC.
