PhoenixSoft Secures Eight New VoIP Contracts in 2009

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

PhoenixSoft, a provider of next-generation communications platforms for converged networks, said it has secured eight contracts for its Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) switching application ‘Cirrus Softswitch’ so far this year.

Cirrus Softswitch is designed for service providers to integrate low-cost, feature-rich Internet Protocol (IP) applications in a variety of network configurations. The company said it would disclose the details of the contracts in separate announcements in the coming weeks.
The new contracts come as a surprise, especially in the periods of severe economic crisis.
“Given this tough economic environment, we’re especially pleased to be securing new customer contracts at this pace,” said Paul Amick (News - Alert), PhoenixSoft’s co-founder.
Amick attributes the company’s achievement to its ability to deliver comprehensive Class 4 and Class 5 features, calling card, wholesale routing, PIN-less dialing and retail Web portals, all within the standard feature set of the Cirrus platform.
PhoenixSoft replaced several existing legacy switches with a single Cirrus Softswitch, which substantiates the fact that it provides customers with real value, added Amick.
Cirrus Softswitch works with legacy Dialogic (News - Alert) time-division multiplexing (TDM) switches, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) carriers, and existing media gateway and/or softswitch networks, the company said.

Other notable features include pre-paid / post-paid / PIN-less dialing, fully integrated IP transcoding, integrated session border controller, integrated IP-PBX (News - Alert), retail Web portal application, partitioned access for agents & resellers, powerful rating & call flow scripting engines, and comprehensive support with fully documented online help.
The system is E911 compliant and is scalable from small, affordable applications to heavy traffic environments. The service is offered as turnkey or hosted solutions.
PhoenixSoft provides robust switching, enhanced features and innovative IP applications through its Cirrus Softswitch. PhoenixSoft’s customized real-time multimedia telephony platforms deliver carrier-grade voice quality, reliability and scalability for service providers, carriers and business enterprises. PhoenixSoft also offers integrated billing and retail Web portal solutions.
