EZCallerID.com Now Available for SMEs, Inbound Call Centers Using VoIP

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

EZ Call Inc. has announced the launch of EZCallerID.com. This new service is designed to serve small and mid-sized Enterprises (SMEs), Inbound Call Centers and ITSPs, providing them with enhanced capabilities that may have been previously unavailable.

EZCallerID.com was created in an effort to provide enhanced caller ID, also known as CNAM, for VoIP calls. These calls in the past lacked the Caller ID feature and could be an obstacle to adoption for some.

Anthony Hicks, EZ Call's Director of Sales, noted that the deployments of IP PBX (News - Alert) equipment and IP Phones are accelerating even in times of economic struggle. Even with this growth and promise of continued opportunities, most VoIP DID (direct inward dial service) providers do not provide Caller Name with the caller number (ANI) when delivering inbound calls.

In situations where such options are available, they can be costly add-ons to current services. Or, the service may not be available at all, such as situations where an organization maintains its own VoIP gateways and digital T1 circuits for inbound PSTN access and CNAM is not an option.

As a result, many IP Phone users lack a basic feature that has been commonly available on the PSTN for years now. EZCallerID.com was created to solve that dilemma by making an easy-to-use and cost effective solution available to anyone as a convenient hosted Web service.

While it is not necessarily the only player in the market offering this functionality to companies, it does not require programming skills or specialized software to make it work. Instead, EZCallerID.com service works with DIDs from any provider and is available to all SIP compatible IP PBX, gateway or proxy equipment.

To take advantage of this technology, customers simply have to configure an inbound route to the EZCallerID.com servers. EZCallerID.com will access the national databases containing the names associated with U.S. phone numbers, and route the call back with the caller's name in place. Available on a pay-as-you-go basis, EZCallerID.com can fit into any budget, with no recurring charges or minimum monthly commitment.

While Caller ID may seem a luxury feature, especially in times of budget cuts and job losses, it does contribute to more effective communications. And, when it is lacking in a VoIP environment, it can give the impression that VoIP technology is not as advanced as it should be. EZCallerID.com can change that.

A New Jersey-based provider of telecom switching services, EZ Call (News - Alert) Inc. processes millions of call transactions daily. The company has established a track record of success and hopes to capitalize on its reputation in extending this new service.
