M5 Networks Upgrades N.Y. Construction Firm to VoIP

By Shireen Dee, TMCnet Contributor

M5 Networks, a provider of hosted VoIP business phone systems, reportedly has been selected by commercial builder, Christa Construction, a provider of building services that’s based in upstate New York, for supplying its scalable solutions and remote working capabilities.

Christa’s client base includes corporate, municipal, recreational and residential customers for whom it provides construction and project management services. The company has completed over $4 billion worth of construction and averages in the $150 to $200 million range yearly.

Dan Kinsmen, director of IT, went in for a managed solution over an on-premises system in an effort to streamline initial investment costs and allow greater flexibility in the long run. Upgrading from older PBX (News - Alert) system to M5’s hosted business VoIP solution was brought about by a corporate decision on full IT ramp up. With Christa’s office and construction sites spread across New York, the East Coast and Chicago, there is a need for seamless site connectivity through which staff can easily access their desk calls and work remotely.

Disaster-proof, redundant VoIP services are going in throughout Christa’s offices, connecting employees by deploying Cisco phones and M5 service. A monthly recurring cost structure has been implemented by the company for unlimited voice and data based on the number of phone profiles, thus costs reflect active users. M5 Phone Assistant interface is used by the personnel and it is easy to interpret for the support staff. M5 support is available round the clock for user assistance.

“M5 has exceeded our expectations, providing Christa Construction with a turnkey VoIP phone solution that we’ve implemented in our main, branch and field offices. All of the features users expect from a VoIP phone system worked the first day the system was online, and the hosted model provides the flexibility we need,” Kinsmen said.

M5 Networks is a provider of business-strength VoIOP phone systems that are supplied as a disaster-proof, hosted service based on the Internet. M5 has a model of delivery designed to ensure phone system functionality.
