Integra Launches Broadband Internet Product for SMBs

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Integra Telecom Inc., a facilities-based, integrated communications provider that brings voice, data and Internet communications to thousands of business and carrier customers in 11 western states – has launched “Broadband Internet,” a new product that delivers small and medium-sized businesses enterprise-level Internet access at rates that fit the SMB budgets.

Officials at Integra say their Broadband Internet services combine the bandwidth potential of their metropolitan fiber networks with two phone-grade copper lines to deliver download speeds of 5, 15 and 25 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 2 Mbps within most of the markets Integra serves.

“At the rates we are offering, Integra’s Broadband Internet service speeds are unprecedented among telecom providers, and we’re proud to be the first to offer a product we believe will change business telecommunication standards,” said Dudley Slater, chief executive officer of Integra.

Integra Telecom’s broadband services are currently available in its Arizona, California, Idaho, Minnesota, North Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Colorado and Washington.

The company claims that it owns and operates a best-in-class fiber-optic network comprising metropolitan access networks, a nationally acclaimed tier one Internet and data network, and a 4,700-mile high-speed long haul network.

Integra Telecom Inc., in March announced that it was adding two new products to its portfolio of service offerings. Integra’s VPN Solutions is an Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network offering, providing a secure, multi-site, private network telecommunications service.
