Communications service provider XO Communications reportedly announced enhancements to its voice over IP services portfolio to help businesses simplify and streamline communications for multi-location enterprises.
Vince Margiotta (News - Alert), vice president of product marketing at XO Communications, commented that the new capabilities in their VoIP services portfolio will make their customers’ networks simpler and easier to manage. It will also enable them to boost productivity and streamline efficiencies.
VoIP services portfolio from XO Communications include XO IP Flex, XO IP Flex with VPN and XO SIP. According to officials, the service has been deployed by more than 16,000 businesses nationwide.
XO Communications has enhanced the service portfolio giving nationwide coverage for multi-location enterprises. With this expansion, the company can provide its VoIP services in 80 percent of major metropolitan markets, officials added.
In an effort to help customers fully leverage the benefits of its converged VoIP services, XO Communications has included a wider range of interoperable IP-PBX capabilities for Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) deployments. They include new IP-PBX interoperability certifications for XO SIP – its award-winning SIP trunking solution – as well as four new IP-PBX platforms that are interoperable with XO SIP introduced last year.
These IP-PBX platforms support Avaya (News - Alert) Aura, Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya Communication Manager Branch Edition, Avaya IP Office; Cisco Call Manager Express, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco UC500; Digium AA50, Digium Asterisk Business Edition, Digium Switchvox (News - Alert); Fonality PBXtra, Fonality trixbox Pro; NEC UNIVERGE SV8100 and UX5000; Sutus Business Central 200; and Toshiba Strata CIX40, CIX100, CIX200, CIX670 and CIX1200
In its new version, XO VoIP portfolio services also offer automatic call routing to provide additional levels of redundancy and business continuity capabilities for XO VoIP customers. With this feature, incoming calls can be routed to an alternate phone, landline or mobile device in the face of an unplanned event. Automatic Call Routing is the latest addition to XO Business Continuity Solutions.
In June, XO Communications launched XO Connect, a multi-modal mass communication service for the commercial market, in association with Blackboard, a global provider of education technology and notification services. XO Connect allows businesses and large enterprises to communicate to employees, or other key audiences, simultaneously via telephone, text message or email.
XO Communications also offers XO Anywhere, a unified communications tool for customers deploying IP Flex and IP Flex with virtual private network.
