Telefonica has announced that Trivnet (News - Alert), a provider of transaction management platforms for delivering secure mobile financial services, has been selected to provide those services to Telefonica’s (News - Alert) Movistar customers in Latin America.
“We chose Trivnet as our provider of Mobile Financial Services based on their superior technology and expertise,” said Jaime Grau, transactional business director at Telefonica Latinoamerica.
Grau said Telefonica wanted to work with a partner who understood the unique characteristics of Latin America and expressed confidence in Trivnet’s capability to work closely and create an optimal MFS ecosystem which would include banking, merchant, government agency and bill payment partners.
Speaking on behalf of Trivnet, Amit Mattatia, CEO of Trivnet said, “Trivnet is proud to support Telefonica in its Latin American rollout of Mobile Financial Services.” He added that they were glad of this opportunity to provide access to a much needed MFS to a greater number of people.
As Trivnet had already proven its worth within the Telefonica group and also in European and Latin American countries, Mattatia said that this was a chance to reinforce leadership position as a global supplier to both emerging and developed markets.
