Itron Inc., received the Teradata (News - Alert) Partner Impact Award for Innovation in the Independent Software Vendor category. The innovation award was presented to Itron for its co-development of next-generation software solutions that maximize utility customers’ return on smart grid investments.

In a press release, Julie Hance, vice president of software solutions for Itron North America, said, “Itron is honored to be chosen by Teradata for a Partner Impact Award. This award exemplifies the collaboration between our two companies and our continued commitment to support our utility customers’ smart grid solutions and their new and expanding data management needs.”

Teradata’s executive vice president, business development and marketing, Darryl McDonald, said, “Our strategic partnership with Itron enables us to deliver business intelligence to utility customers by combining meter data with other operational, financial and customer data and applying analytics. The joint development work will bring measurable value to our customers.”

Teradata Partner Impact Award is an acknowledgement for organizations whose contributions have produced the most dramatic success in the past year, expressing appreciation for outstanding teamwork among partners needed to benefit mutual customers.

Each year, Teradata nominates and selects partners in eight categories: Collaborative Revenue Contribution, New Customer Wins, Innovation and ISV Partner of the Year for both independent software vendor and system integrator partners. The winners in each category are chosen for their substantial efforts in effectively serving customers and influencing the marketplace.

Recently, Itron was in news when the Indonesian state-owned electricity utility PT, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) selected Itron to supply 800,000 keypad smart payment residential meters to the Java Bali region by the end of the year. From residential territories to large power plants, distribution substations and transmission companies, Itron produce a diverse range of gas, water and solid-state electricity meters for every type of market and application.
