Autotask Integrates OWN ExchangeDefender as Command Center Partner

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Autotask Corporation, a provider of cloud-based IT business management platform, announced that ExchangeDefender, a managed network security service developed by Own Web Now!, or “OWN,” has been selected as the company’s first-ever “Command Center” partner to protect email servers.

ExchangeDefender is now fully operational inside Autotask's massively hosted cloud, generating stellar productivity advantage, according to company officials.

Autotask's advanced Command Center integration with OWN automatically integrates ExchangeDefender subscribers into Autotask. As a result they can use their single Autotask Command Center dashboard to manage and track all network security services.

The service includes a real-time, secure API connection that ties Autotask's central knowledge base directly into ExchangeDefender's online management tool, generating a seamless data exchange, company officials said.

It allows customers to immediately report and respond to service tickets, track critical security data, and enjoy accurate tracking and billing of licenses on all installed products from one source.

They can manage OWN service requests and tickets through “reverse service ticket” tool integration. It also sets workflow rules to more easily manage each technician and team member.

Company officials claim that the integrated service eliminates costly duplication without sacrificing privacy or data security.

“Autotask's Command Center represents the future of how Managed Services will be managed and deployed in our industry,” Bob Godgart, Autotask CEO, said in a statement. “As a savvy managed services player, OWN's president, Vlad Mazek, jumped at the chance to use our massively hosted PSA cloud to create a service advantage like none other.”

When installing ExchangeDefender, Autotask customers can choose to use OWN's full array of free support resources, or pay a one-time flat fee to have OWN install the solution for them, Autotask officials added.

ExchangeDefender is tailored to a small business' e-mail system, and works with Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange, Lotus Domino, Novell Groupwise or any other SMTP mail server, the company said. Like Autotask, ExchangeDefender runs off of set policies to secure end clients' e-mail servers from viruses, malware, adware and other threats.

Earlier this month, Autotask launched an exclusive IT services platform for 1nService, the international community of advanced technology integrators. The new platform helps 1nService to enhance its member-to-member network that focuses on delivering high-end IT services partnerships.
