Skype has enabled individuals and businesses to overcome the barriers of cost, distance and technology from anywhere in the world. With its free Skype (News - Alert)-to-Skype video and voice calls, free IM and file sharing, it has created flexible ways of working together. Its premium application – InnerPass - which is being used by businesses for collaboration, announced that it has crossed the threshold of three million users.

Steve Parsloe, CEO and president of InnerPass said that surpassing the three million figure was a major milestone for the organization, and added that over the past year, they have been incorporating user feedback into various upgrades, including an expanded Conference Bridge, an updated Screen-Sharing product, InnerPass Inbox and an easier File Manager product.

InnerPass is a powerful tool that helps users to share files and collaborate on any subject. An InnerPass Shared Folder needs to be created, from where the user can meet and share with inner contacts.

Although this is possible with e-mail, sending large files to multiple people is next to impossible, and sharing files is important between family, friends and business colleagues, who are not in the same place. InnerPass actually breaks the barriers of distance through an elegant, easy to use Web application.

The Skype application also provides meeting rooms. Conference calls can easily be started just by using the single Skype Call button. This will ensure that everyone in the InnerPass folder is called. Group Instant chat is also possible. Education organizations, commercial enterprises and personal account holders are among InnerPass' diverse user base.

InnerPass is based in Framingham, Massachusetts. Investors include Stage 1 Ventures and Beacon Angels.

In a related news release, InnerPass has recently focused on education; enabling education organizations and schools to deliver Distance Learning with greater ease for students and teachers.
