Mitel (News - Alert), a provider of enterprise, mobile and cloud communications solutions, recently announced an extension of its partnership with communications and collaboration specialist Vidyo (News - Alert) that allowed the former company to seamlessly integrate Vidyo application programming interfaces (APIs) into a few of its solutions.
The two companies entered into a distribution agreement in 2013 and this amplification of that partnership will enable Mitel to deliver comprehensive high-definition videoconferencing capabilities to its enterprise customers.
“End customers across industries are increasingly expressing interest in integrated video communications as a key part of their collaboration strategy,” said Ron Wellard (News - Alert), Chief Products and Solutions Officer at Mitel. “Vidyo is the technology leader in affordable software-based video conferencing solutions and has been an important partner to Mitel for years. This expanded relationship will deliver the highest quality, experience and value to our customers.”
MiCollab, Mitel’s real-time communications and collaboration solution, has been enhanced by integration of the VidyoWorks platform so that it can offer flexible videoconferencing abilities from any mobile endpoint, which is essential as companies increasingly rely upon distributed and/or mobile workforces.
The VidyoWorks integration also brings improvements to the user experience through more intuitive administration controls and useful additional features, all while substantially broadening the pool of customers that would be interested in such an encompassing solution with high quality results.
Mitel implemented Vidyo HD, a software-based videoconferencing platform, into its unified communications (UC) and collaboration video offerings in order to offer these high-definition services. Mitel’s fully-featured video communications offerings can be deployed in any sort of cloud environment and thus are appealing to an increasingly wide range of organizations looking to better manage their communications and streamline collaboration and other business processes.
"We are pleased to partner with Mitel on this expanded relationship to answer the demands of existing customers, sustain and grow new global deployments and help win market share in verticals like healthcare and financial services,” said Eran Westman, CEO of Vidyo. “Vidyo’s high quality software-based video conferencing infrastructure provides the absolute best possible experience to all enterprise customers looking for a real-time integrated video communication solution today."
