Unified Communications Week in Review: Unify, Broadsoft, SkySwitch & More

Welcome back to the week in review, where we take a look at all the top stories making headlines in Unified Communications this week.

The week started off with the news that Unify (News - Alert) has unveiled its OpenScape Cloud. This feature-rich and highly flexible cloud communications offering is capable of supporting the modern workforce and its collaboration needs.

“The move to cloud is a major market trend, and our customers and partners are looking for more options and stronger offerings than are available today,” said Luiz Domingos, Head of Product House for Unify. “Unify’s OpenScape Cloud provides superior functionality and the flexibility for public or private cloud deployments, so Unify and our partners can offer customers the deployment choices and flexibility to migrate at their pace.” Everything you need to know is HERE.

Next up, CenturyLink announced that it is adding the Broadsoft Unified Communications (News - Alert)-as-a-Service (UCaaS) powered by the Broadsoft Government Cloud to CenturyLink’s General Services Admistration (GSA) IT Schedule 70 contract. TMC’s Maurice Nagle writes, “The Broadsoft UCaaS offering was developed with government requirements in mind. And, it offers government agencies the mobile, secure, scalable and on demand infrastructure in place to support multi-site workplaces.” Continue reading HERE.

Meanwhile, SkySwitch announced this week that it has integrated ReachUC into the SkySwitch Platform. This influx of advanced applications, tools and features adds much in the way of capability, and is now available to all SkySwitch white label resellers. Nagle’s full coverage is HERE.

Finally, the week rounded out with the news that an international self-storage company has selected Fusion for a multi-year contract to provide cloud communications across 195 facilities.
