This week was all about ITEXPO, held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the Broward County Convention Center. The event was held from February 14-16, 2018 and unified communications was definitely on the agenda throughout the week. In case you missed any of the exciting announcements and conversations, it is the perfect time for the Unified Communications Week in Review.

It started with CoreDial announcing its acquisition of Voice4Net with CD CEO Alan Rihm telling Web Editor, Maurice Nagle prior to ITEXPO (News - Alert): “We already closed a deal or more, and the integration isn’t even done yet.” Phase one is currently underway with CoreDial delivering a comprehensive omnichannel package to accommodate contact centers, chat, voice, UCaaS, etc.

During the first morning of ITEXPO, Sanjay Srinivasan, PhD. Vice President & Chief Technology Architect, Business Engineering Vonage (News - Alert) spoke about UCaaS and SD-WAN. Srinivasan explained, “We started looking at the use of SD-WAN for VoIP Service about three or 4 years ago, and have been actively deploying SD-WAN for Vonage and our customers...the change has exceeded expectations.”

Rev.io spoke at ITEXPO about offering service providers the ability to grow by offering cloud, communications, and IT service providers with billing and back office SaaS (News - Alert). The company typically targets tier 2 and 3 service providers, according to CEO Brent Maropis, including North American companies will half a billion dollars in revenue or less. CallTower (News - Alert), MagicJack, Ready Wireless, and Spectrotel are among its customers.

Finally, stepping away from ITEXPO, Brian Forster discussed how financial services firms can combat security concerns. This includes adopting a DevOps approach, which 45 percent of financial services have already implemented. This must be deployed quickly to ensure the ultimate safety of clients and more.

And there you have it; this week’s Unified Communications (News - Alert) week in review wrapped up in a neat little package. Come back next week early and often so you do not miss a single moment!
