It’s an exciting time for RingCentral (News - Alert). Gartner last year again named RingCentral a Magic Quadrant worldwide leader in the Unified Communications (News - Alert) as a Service space. RingCentral’s channel sales AVP Jeff Winnett will be speaking next week on a UC and telecom panel at MSP Expo. And today the company announced its expansion in Asia Pacific with a new office in Australia, new RingCentral APAC leadership, and the addition of some important channel partners.
RingCentral has tapped Ben Swanson as director of channels for APAC. He’ll work out of the Syndey office to lead business in the region. Swanson has more than two decades experience leading channel efforts across Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. That included stints with Avaya and ShoreTel (News - Alert).
Having a strong channel effort in this area will be key, RingCentral says, because more than 80 percent of IT purchasing in the region is done via channel partners. So RingCentral continues to support and add to its corral of partners. Through its Channel Harmony: One to Infinity Program, RingCentral awards partners 100 percent commissions on all deals. And RingCentral has announced that it’s working with Dialog Information Technology, a Google (News - Alert) Premier partner.
“The demand for communications has shifted from on-premises systems to cloud solutions as businesses look for new-generation solutions to scale their operations more easily, save on costs, and drive greater productivity across their organizations,” said Glenn Irvine, National Practice Manager, Google Solutions at Dialog Information Technology. “Our customers are already asking for RingCentral, and with this partnership, we’ll be able to provide them with a single integrated solution across voice, video, online meetings, and team messaging to achieve greater business outcomes.”
In other news from RingCentral, Winnett will be on the MSP Expo panel titled “How to Profitably Add UC and Telecom to Your Service Offering.” This will take place May 16 at 2 p.m. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Erik Knight, CEO at SimpleWAN, will moderate. And other panelists include Wayne Landt, director of channel sales at Digium; Trey Anderson, technology evangelist for UCaaS at TPx; and Mark Achzenick, vice president of IT innovation and managed services at Unify (News - Alert) Square.
