Quintum (News - Alert) Technologies, provider of VoIP technologies and a subsidiary of Network Equipment Technologies, announced that its T1/E1/PRI and 4 port FXS Response Point Gateways bagged the Best of Show, Best SMB Solution award at the INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO (ITEXPO (News - Alert)) last week.

 

Collaborating with a team from Microsoft, Quintum created analog and digital gateways that can work with any Response Point-based IP telephony system to enable small and medium businesses deploy VoIP throughout their network with IP PBX (News - Alert) telephony advantages.

 

Because the Quintum analog Response Point gateway is automatically discovered and configured by the Response Point application, it is very easy to install with any Response Point-based phone system. The T1/E1/PRI gateway provides a simple step-by-step set-up by using the same auto discovery and configuration capability along with a simple Response Point customized configuration wizard.

 

Quintum has always exceeded the bar of excellence when developing their products, according to TMC President and Conference Chairman, Rich Tehrani (News - Alert). He noted that with Microsoft and Response Point, the company has now capitalized on the functionality that enterprises have enjoyed for years, and designed them into a gateway that SMBs can easily and cost-effectively use.

 

Xuedong Huang, general manager of Microsoft Response Point, explained that Quintum worked closely with the Microsoft team to design an easy-to-use interface and quality product that assures a hassle-free experience for customers using Response Point systems with the Quintum gateways.

 

Chuck Rutledge, vice president of Marketing for NET (News - Alert)/Quintum pointed out that similar to their larger counterparts, small businesses now need sophisticated telephony systems, but are constrained by both financial and technical resources.

 

Microsoft Response Point and Quintum have created a unique gateway solution that is consistent with the Response Point philosophy of being easy to set up and manage, and inexpensive to own, he said.

 

The ITEXPO Best of Show Award honors products and solutions that were featured in the Exhibit Hall during the event. INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine editorial staff thoroughly evaluated the pre-show nominations, and also met with vendors in order to inspect and review the displayed products on the first day of the show.
