GL Communications (News - Alert) Inc., a provider of telecom engineering and IT consulting services, has announced comprehensive enhancements to some of its existing applications, including the T1 E1 Analyzer software, tProbe application, Datacom analyzer, Windows client server, protocol analyzers and Message Automation & Protocol Simulation (MAPS) platform applications.

The latest enhanced T1 E1 analyzer software and hardware are being released as version 7.5.10.

Vijay Kulkarni, CEO of GL Communications, said in a statement, "Our T1 E1 Analysis suite of products continues to provide the most comprehensive analysis and emulation capability of any product on the market. Any traffic over T1 E1 lines including voice, fax, modem, signaling, mobile, IP, VoIP, ATM and more is addressed.”

According to Kulkarni, the new hardware introduced Dual T1 E1 Express (PCIe) cards are high-density boards with newer PCIe bus interface. These cards are identical to the portable tProbe units, except for foreign exchange office (FXO) foreign exchange subscriber (FXS), or FXO FXS, and Datacom functionality.

GL’s new version of the MAPS FXO FXS application is an advanced test tool. This tool supports emulation of functions of FXS by analog phone lines and FXO by phones using the FXO and FXS ports on a tProbe.

The MAPS is a multi-protocol, multi-technology platform used for the emulation of a variety of communication protocols over IP, TDM and Wireless networks. It can handle different types of traffic such as tones, digits (DTMF, MF, MFR2F, MFR2B), voice files, fax and more.

As a scripting architecture, MAPS is event-driven and provides the flexibility to validate the signals being exchanged during a call setup. It automates the entire testing process using scripts and facilitates placing call/answer incoming calls on both FXO and FXS ports.

The latest announcements also include the new customized applications for mobile networks enhanced logic (CAMEL) application part (CAP) emulation capability for MAPS. This capability can emulate CAP IN services such as unified messaging, prepaid, toll-free, and fraud control.

These services are available in time division multiplexing (TDM) based global system for mobile communications (GSM), general packet radio service (GPRS) and universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) networks.

The new Dual T1 E1 Express (PCIe) boards support enhanced VF drop and insert capabilities with software selectable VF Tx and Rx impedances (135Ω, 150 Ω, 600 Ω, 900 Ω, or High), pulse mask compliance testing, jitter generation and measurement applications.

The latest jitter generation application helps in generating a jittered output T1 E1 signal with user-selected jitter frequency and amplitude. It is ideal for testing jitter tolerance and compliance with standards such as G.823.
