Communication and collaboration technologies keep evolving. Companies are coerced to upgrade their infrastructure as technologies evolve, in order to stay competitive.

In an effort to increase its competitiveness, Princess Yachts – a British motor yacht manufacturer – has migrated from traditional time-division multiplexing (TDM) systems to virtualized unified communications (UC) by implementing voice and data communication solution from Mitel (News - Alert).

Mitel is a provider of cloud and premises-based unified communications and collaboration (UCC) software, solutions and services. It offers Freedom architecture that facilitates customers with a solution that offers flexibility and simplicity ideal for a dynamic work environment.

One of the spokespersons from Mitel cited in a press release that the company delivered a virtualized telephony solution for Princess Yachts, as part of an extensive network upgrade and voice solution.

This Mitel solution was delivered in collaboration with Mitel’s partner, NG Bailey.

By implementing Mitel’s solution, Princess Yachts is able to facilitate over 400 of its employees with quick and seamless connectivity across six locations in Plymouth. Consequently, the yacht manufacturer is able to streamline costs while driving its employees productivity.

Apart from offering a flexible platform, Mitel’s solution implemented by Princess Yachts is a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) solution that enabled the yacht manufacturer to adopt a modern, future-proof approach to communication and collaboration, using a multi exchange platform.

In near future, Princess Yachts has plans to integrate Mitel's collaboration application, MiCollab, in order to offer real-time access to a host of applications and features for everyone within the organization, either on or off premise.

With MiCollab’s further support, Princess Yachts will be able to provide its employees with on-the-go communication without expensive call or roaming charges.
