Global Data Mining LLC, a provider of database management and customs classification systems, has introduced the Prospect Target Analysis tool.
Officials with Global Data Mining said that PTA, a business intelligence application, is being implemented by Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) #176 at Chicago Rockford International Airport to identify targeted companies that could significantly benefit from the FTZ program.
Company officials said that PTA will also help regional economic development officers target firms for relocation to a specific community that offers benefits such as transportation and logistics.
"We look forward to the potential economic development advantages that the PTA can provide," said Marge Burton Bevers, FTZ administrator, Chicago Rockford International Airport, in a statement. "Attracting business to Rockford is fundamental in the economic growth and longevity of our region, and the PTA can help us achieve our goals, make informed business decisions and create jobs for residents of our region.'
Company officials said that Global Data Mining, working with its strategic partner CenTradeX, developed PTA after a recommendation by Mark Podemski, vice president of Rockford Area Economic Development Council, during a previous Go Global regional trade seminar. Launched three years ago in Rockford, Ill., Go Global is a partnership of like-minded companies and organizations with a common goal to support, strengthen and grow small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the international market place.
"With PTA, Global Data Mining adds a targeted prospecting approach to business intelligence, helping community leaders make superior decisions to achieve their economic goals," said Chuck Wigand, president and CEO, CenTradex.
Wigand said that communities will save time and money by targeting specific types of businesses and qualifying and ranking both domestic and foreign prospects.
"Global Data Mining and CenTradeX have had a long-time alliance based on a synergistic approach to using data to provide information to government and business leaders," said Matt Gersper, president and founder, Global Data Mining LLC.
Gersper said that the PTA gives community leaders and FTZ executives a better way to gather information, quantify potential savings available within a geographic region and identify U.S. and foreign companies that would be top prospects to benefit from those savings.
