Today, everything that can possibly go digital does, and what cannot go digital today will go digital tomorrow. That’s the new reality; digitalization and technology have encompassed and invaded our lives like never before. Welcome to the digital age! We dreamt of being Captain Spock when we were young and actually fantasized of the gadgets – now we adults can actually be that with the modern digital gadgets that are available. Big cities like Los Angeles have become more security concerned due to the growing crime rates.  There are a number of gadgets that help in home security in Los Angeles and other big metros.

Future-ready Televisions

Imagine giving superannuation and retiring your TV remote. Now we have the new age future ready televisions. These work on voice commands and gestures; change channels, increase/decrease volume, change almost all the setting with voice and gestures. It is possible with the new series of Samsung (News - Alert) Television sets that have invaded the global markets.  Now the Captain Spock in you can command the television.

Vivint Home Systems

There are newer integrated energy usage monitoring and security systems. Vivint home systems are one such example. One main console controls the security and home temperature and adding the smartphone apps makes this a veritable master tool for saving on energy costs and ensuring security of home. There are aggressive energy saver settings that allow you to reduce energy consumption at midday and midnight. Interestingly, Vivint allows the users to lock one door and walk away from home and bingo! The rest of the doors automatically are locked. This is one useful gadget that you cannot simply do without.

Smart Dish Washer

Whirlpool has introduced a smart dish washer – now, how smart can a dishwasher get? This fully automated and connected dishwasher uses a newer 6th Sense Live Technology and can be used to remotely activate washing and wash cycles.  The energy adviser calculates the exact energy consumption which can be adapted for better usage in the future.  The phone app also manages to tell the user whether the dishes are clean or not.

Energy-efficient Windows

Environmental consciousness is growing these days and Americans in particular are increasingly becoming conscious and responsible toward the environment.  People nowadays are constantly seeking new and innovative ways to save energy and eventually save many. This growing consciousness and the quest for new and innovative ways to preserve energy would obviously result in a smaller carbon footprint.  One such innovation that might be interesting to people seeking new ways to save energy thereby saving money is energy efficient windows.  People living in big cities are increasingly seeking to replace their conventional windows with these new and technologically advanced windows.

Netgear (News - Alert) VueZone

The Netgear VueZone is a smart security system useful for video surveillance. This comprises of an in-built Wi-Fi bridge to the router at home or office. The cameras are placed close to the bridge and then switched on. They robotically sync, and the battery is replaceable and lasts roughly six months. The size of the cameras is about two thumb widths, and they are designed in such a way that they pop into a round frame that can be stuck to any kind of surface. There is a possibility for the users to network up to approximately 15 cameras.  The video can be viewed from devices of Android (News - Alert) or iOS, and there is also a possibility of receiving an e-mail when motion is detected by the camera.
