Telerik's Sitefinity Makes Dynamic Content Delivery Easier Than Ever

Sitefinity is an interesting second line of business for Telerik - a company we more frequently associate with the Kendo UI and Icenium HTML5 app development platforms. The ASP.NET (News - Alert)-based Web content management platform is used by over 70,000 customers worldwide, and the customer base includes 49 of the Fortune 500. Sitefinity is designed to provide businesses with tools that allow them to use effectively use and deploy content to engage, convert and retain customers on the Web.

Following up on new, recently launched connectors for Marketo (News - Alert) and Salesforce.com just several weeks ago, today Telerik has announced a number of new usability benefits to Sitefinity that will give digital marketers and business users of Sitefinity enhanced and increased efficiency in handling millions of website interactions on a daily basis. To accomplish this Sitefinity now provides direct inline editing, an HTML5-based Google (News - Alert) Analytics module and a new dynamic administration dashboard. These key additions were driven by Telerik's customers - especially those in the Fortune 500, who now require these tools in order to author and edit content in context of their front-end presentations.

The tools were developed to work seamlessly with Sitefinity's user-centered, task-driven and always minimalistic design. Following here is a more detailed view of the new components.

Inline Editing: The new editing feature allows users to make updates "within the context" of a user's business website. To accomplish this Sitefinity has introduced a browser-based HTML5 environment for creating and updating that content. Content authors are now able to edit title fields and body fields in a true WYSIWYG format, change headers, sub-heads, and body content, and replace images in context of any given webpage. There is as well a full details mode that allows content editors to edit all the pieces of a content node such as keyword tags, image alt tags, URL, and publication dates.

HTML5-Based Google Analytics Module: As the name makes clear, this new module upgrade's Telerik’s existing Google Analytics Module directly to HTML5. Users can now take advantage of Google Analytics integrated tightly with the Sitefinity backend. While editing webpages, content authors can leverage analytic reports including daily visits, visit duration, and unique visitors – while making adjustments to the webpage, on the fly, for improved search engine results.

Dynamic Administration Dashboard: This new dashboard gives business users visibility into such things as website interactions, pending tasks and recently added content. It is integrated with Google Analytics and lets users set personalized displays to any metrics such as daily visits, visit duration, bounce rate, or traffic sources or set the dashboard to display content items last edited as well as type and status.

Martin Kirov, executive vice president forTelerik’s Sitefinity division, says, “The ability to execute is becoming a bigger and bigger differentiator for the success of online marketing teams. Making digital marketers more effective by authoring content in context of the presentation was the main driver behind what we believe is a revolutionary in-line content authoring experience we’re delivering with Sitefinity 6.2. Content is still at the center of the online customer experience and enriching it with context, coupled with an amazing authoring experience will now enable our customers to fully deliver compelling online experiences and grow their business.”

Kirov of course is entirely correct - what he says above really underscores the age old adage that "Content is King." Well, in today's world content is indeed still king and in fact content is always what makes the key difference between engaged and non-engaged users. As Telerik's customers and the rest of the Web-based world will tell you, it is only the engaged audience that really matters. Engaging them is critical and Sitefinity hopes to ensure its customers do exactly this.
