Geo Networks Ltd. is deploying a new 423 fiber-count cable between the city of London and premier data center provider as well as host of the London Internet Exchange, Docklands Telehouse.
It's the latest move by Geo Networks to cater and satiate its customers. The cable will weave into Geo Network's existing metro network through London's Victorian sewers, offering a direct, low latency route to meet data networking demand across the area. “We place significant focus on customer experience and welcome the opportunity to listen to requirements so that we can always strive to meet customers’ needs and build out our network in line with demand,” said Chris Smedley, Chief Executive. “As part of our strategy to deliver unrivaled service and continuous improvement, we regularly undertake surveys with our customers, providing feedback across all areas of the business.”
Those surveys show a favorable view of Geo Networks. The company's recent "Voice of the Customer" survey noted a 100 percent satisfaction rate with Geo Network's Network Operation Center and its documentation. Additionally, the company scored a satisfaction rate of 98 percent for security, scalability, customer service and in-life performance. Cable providers, at least in the United States, aren't known for their customer satisfaction. It appears Geo Networks has gone as far as to expand its customer service team by hiring James Bird, a 20-year telecom veteran, as the head of customer service. It looks like Bird is jumping head-first into Geo Network's success.
"Geo’s customers all have bespoke services and we take a proactive approach to supporting their requirements through the whole lifecycle, from designing the network to tailoring customer support," Bird said in a prepared statement. "This high touch engagement gives customers a clear view of the performance of their network and the success of this approach is reflected in the pleasing survey results and our extremely low churn levels.” Those extremely low churn levels are thanks to active customer communication and Geo Networks’ aim to please.
